If you're planning a trip to Hervey Bay with little ones in tow, WetSide Water Park should be right at the top of your must-do list. Located on the foreshore at the junction of Main Street and the Esplanade, this colourful coastal gem is packed with thrills, laughs, and family-friendly fun — and best of all, it’s free to enter!

🌊 Splash Pad & Whale Structures
The main splash pad is a burst of energy with water spurts shooting from every direction. As kids zigzag through fountains and jets, they’re also greeted by eye-catching whale-themed structure that seem to rise right out of the ground. It’s imaginative, interactive, and perfect for inspiring play.
The excitement hits a peak when the massive tipping bucket fills to the brim and comes crashing down in a tidal wave of laughter and squeals — it’s a hit with kids of all ages!

🎢 Water Slides (For the Brave Ones!)
While general entry is free, there’s a small cost to ride the giant water slides — and trust us, they’re worth it for the older kids (and grown-ups too!). These towering slides are a favourite feature for families looking for that extra splash of excitement.

👶 TotSide – Designed for Little Splashers
If you're visiting with a toddler, the TotSide area is a dream come true. Specifically designed for children under five, it’s a safe, gentle water play space with age-appropriate features that our little one absolutely loved. Soft sprays, smaller fountains, and lots of giggles make this zone a hit for your tiniest adventurers.

🧗♂️ Aqua Ninja Course
Although it was closed for maintenance during our visit, the Aqua Ninja Course looked epic! It's a multi-challenge obstacle course with water jets, climbing elements, and balancing fun — ideal for older kids who need to burn off energy. Definitely something to look forward to next time!
👮♀️ Lifeguards & Safety
Lifeguards were on duty and visible throughout the park, which was reassuring. While their presence adds peace of mind, it's important to remember that parental supervision is still essential at all times.

☕ Coffee & Food? Yes, Please!
One of the best parts for us parents? There’s a restaurant and coffee shop on-site! You can grab a hot coffee, snack on some fish and chips, and relax while the kids splash to their hearts’ content. It’s family fun made easy.
❄️ Seasonal Closure of WetSide Water Park Hervey Bay – Plan Ahead!
WetSide Water Park closes during the cooler winter months for maintenance, typically from May to September, so make sure to check the opening dates before you go.
